WEEKEND BLUES/ Horror as grandma, accomplice bloodily brutalise three kids in Anambra -Photos


An 80-year-old woman, Mrs Chidi Nwafor, and her accomplice, Rejoice Raymond, have been arrested for allegedly torturing three minors at the Federal Housing Estate, 3-3 area of Nkwelle Ezunaka, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra state.


The suspects, The State Online gathered, purportedly confined the victims – two boys and a girl inside different rooms at No.13 Akunwanta Mbamalu Street of the area, subjecting them to physical and emotional torture after starving them for hours.


According to a concerned citizen who spoke to our reporter, “the women also inflicted the children with several wounds on their body and left them unconscious, until help finally came their way.”


Confirming the arrest, Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Haruna Mohammed, said the children have been rescued and rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

CSP Mohammed said the Commissioner of Police, Monday Bala Kuryas, has ordered for a discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident after which suspects should be made to face the wrath of the law.

Giving vivid account of the incident, Mohammed said: “On 19/2/2021, at about 5:50pm, following intelligence report, police operatives attached to 3-3 Police Station, Nkwelle Ezunaka, arrested two suspects, Rejoice Raymond (39) of Akunwanta Mbamalu Street, Federal Housing Estate, 3-3 Area, Anambra State and Mrs Chidi Felicia Nwafor (80) of same address.

“Suspects allegedly confined three children (2 boys and a girl) inside different rooms at NO.13 Akunwanta Mbamalu Street, Federal Housing Estate, 3-3 area, Nkwelle Ezunaka and subjected them to physical and emotional torture without feeding and inflicted several wounds on them and leaving them unconscious.

“The scene was visited by the DPO 3-3, CSP Abdu Bawa, where gory sights of badly battered victims, one with a broken arm, were found in the pool of their blood, and whose parents were neither seen nor known.

“Preliminary investigation further revealed some fetish substances, blood stained canes, concoctions and other incriminating items all recovered inside the rooms and registered as exhibits.”
