Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CRC Credit Bureau Limited, Tunde Popoola, has been awarded a PhD in Finance by South Africa’s top university, Witwatersrand.
Announcing the feat, Dr Popoola said “With fulfilment and a high sense of gratitude to Allah, I am happy to inform you that I have been awarded a PhD in Finance by the prestigious WITS Business School of the University of The Witwatersrand, South Africa. My research interest was in entrepreneurship and access to finance with focus on government financing support programmes for SMEs in African countries.”
Popoola who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile-ife, Nigeria and two Masters Degrees in Banking & Finance and Economics from the University of Lagos is the pioneer Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CRC Credit Bureau Limited since 2008.
Before then, he was also the pioneer Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA).
He was equally in the banking industry where he rose to the position of Chief Finance Officer (CFO) and General Manager.
Dr Popoola is an alumnus of various executive education programs of the prestigious Lagos Business School (LBS), the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and Wharton Business School. He holds the fellowship of six institutions namely, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD), Institute of Credit Administration (ICA), and the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria. He is also a member of the Institute of Directors (IOD). He has facilitated and attended several programs especially on Entrepreneurship, Banking Operations, Financial Management, Leadership and Development in Nigeria and abroad.
He sits on the board of several companies and NGOs.
