A nursing mother simply identified as Kehinde who resides in Otowvodo (Agbassa) Community Warri, has allegedly beat her seven years old son named Gisi to death in Warri on Monday June 15th, 2020.
It was gathered that Kehinde, who had the three months baby girl for another man other the father of Gisi, gave Gisi the beating of his life and thereafter subjected the boy with an empty stomach to a corporal punishment of riding an imaginary motorcycle for several hours that led to his collapse and fainted in the process.
It was at this stage that she was said to have called for help from neighbours to revive her dying son, allegedly lying that the boy was convulsing due to an ailment.
But unfortunately for her, she could not convince her neighbours, majority of who affirmed that they heard Gisi crying for help when she (his mother) was being possessed by the devil.
Efforts by neighbours to revive the boy failed. He was then rushed to a nearby private hospital where he gave up the ghost shortly after arrival.
The youth leadership of the community wasted no time in inviting the police who arrested the mother of the dead boy to Police ‘ A’ Divisional Headquarters, Warri.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Delta State Police Command, Asaba Onome Onowakpoyeya, when contacted by our correspondent, confirmed the incident.
