The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), on Wednesday, said that no amount of falsehood would cover up the wanton atrocities of the present government against its Leader, Sheik Ibraheem El-Zakzaky.

According to the Islamic group, the Federal Government “has virtually done all it could to have His Eminence, Sheikh Ibraheem Yaqoub El-Zakzaky, dead, to say the least.

“Buhari and his cohorts have tried almost everything to get it done, yet he is alive,” the group added.

IMN said it is disheartening that El-Zakzaky is merely standing in need of proper medication in a medical facility with cutting-edge equipment.

It stressed that this is part of his human rights that the current government has continued to grossly violate.

Abdullahi Muhammad Musa, the Secretary, Academic Forum of the Islamic Movement, stated this in a statement he made available in Abuja.

The statement is titled: “Zaria Massacre, Unlawful Detention and Trumped-Up Charges; What’s Next for the Buhari Regime.”

“While the accomplices have been peddling lies so ridiculous that even the gullible have begun to have a sneaking suspicion, the real villain of the whole piece, Buhari, is in the driving seat calling the shots.

“No amount of untruth will cover up their wanton atrocities. The public should be reminded of a watershed incident that was brought about on November 27, 2015 as the so-called Boko Haram attacked Sheikh El-Zakzaky’s followers during Arbaeen Symbolic Trek en route from Kano to Zaria.

“The iniquitous attack culminated in the untimely death of 22 people and many others sustaining serious injuries.

‘Two weeks or so after, the Zaria-December-2015 bloodbath set in for days: that senseless and savage killing of over a thousand people and destruction of property worth billions of naira.

“The lies of the Buhari regime are yet villainous, as he had once wanted to wish his enormities away through the laughable claim of creating a state within a state.

“But, the state-within-a-state claim could not stand the test of reason and time.

“Sooner rather than later, he pitched into underhand deceptions: that Sheikh El-Zakzaky had done nothing wrong and was only in protective custody, that he was in good condition, that the government was even spending N3.5 million on him every month and so on.

“The thing with lie is, one has to recast previous ones to make them rhyme with the present one,” Musa said.

He alleged that the government has not relented in its effort to kill their leader as it continued to deny him and his wife proper medical treatment.

“The way the regimers are using Kaduna High Court in order to influence and manoeuvre their evil interests is glaringly obvious.

“That is how they keep on foraying into the fundamental rights of the Sheikh, his wife and followers.

On Tuesday, March 31, 2020, there was bogus unrest in Kaduna prison.

“In January, 2021, the prison was exposed to COVID-19, and Sheikh El-Zakzaky’s wife contracted it, to mention but a few.

“Now Kaduna High Court has fixed July 28 for ruling on the no case submission filed by their counsels,” he said.

Musa reminded that on December 2, 2016, the Federal High Court, Abuja ordered for unconditional release of the couple, but the government refused to release them.

He said looking at the government’s “flagrant disregard for rule of law, we have no trust in him (Buhari) and his regime, whatsoever.

“Thus, we put moves against the Sheikh under serious watch.

“At this juncture, we would like to urge followers and sympathizers of the Sheikh to be alert to any threat to the life of our leader and react the same way we did when we came out enmass in the second week of January, 2018, when the Sheikh was reported to have had a stroke in the custody of Department of Security Services [DSS].”/SHARE THIS
