A Delta woman from Okuokoko community near Warri , Mrs Oke Eregarnoma, has narrated how her Yahoo Plus son, Emmanuel Eregarnoma, had perfected evil ploys to pluck her eyes for money ritual, but was saved by Divine grace on Tuesday.
It happened that Emmanuel invited his mother, Mrs Oke Eregarnoma, to his residence on Caroline Street, Okuokoko after he persuaded her that he had a surprise package for her.
On getting there, she said she saw Emmanuel in an unusual joyous mood, after he ushered her in. He then increased the volume of his musical gadgets.
Speaking to journalists on her her hospital bed where she was recuperating, Oke alleged that her son suddenly locked the door and made moves to strangle and pluck off her eyes, just as she screamed for help, adding that no one heard her due to loudness of the music.
She said after fighting with her son for some minutes, she regained her strength by Divine intervention and ran outside for help, while neighbours came to her rescue.
Mrs Oke Eregarnoma, further narrating her ordeal to journalists on a hospital bed, recalled that before the attack, her son had boasted that “he must drive GLK this week, at least, before December this year.
The suspect was consequently apprehended and taken to the police station. He was subsequently detained at the Orerokpe Divisional Police Headquarters in Okpe Local Government Area, Delta State over the incident.
The acting Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State, DSP Bright Edafe, confirming the incident, said that police presently spreading its dragnet to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident, even as the suspect is already being detained.
