JAMBulletin is one of the landmark achievements of the administration of JAMB Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, in its quest for openness and accountability.
The Editorial Board of JAMBulletin is headed by Dr Fabian Benjamin as Chairman. Other members of the Editorial Board are: Dr. Mahfouz Adedimeji (Honorary Editorial Adviser), Mr. Abdulrahman Akpata ( Member), Mohammed Ashumate (Member), Ismaila Jimoh (Member), Ijeoma Onyekwere (Member), Ronke Fadayomi (Correspondent), Obinna Pius (Correspondent), and Evelyn Akoja (Correspondent).
Also in the team are Dorcas Omolara Akinleye ( Computer Typesetter), Prince Kalu (Cameraman), Gabriel Ajodo (Circulation), Martha Abo (Circulation) and Bridget Magnus (Circulation).
Before Oloyede came on board at JAMB, what existed was a quarterly publication called JAMBnews.
The previous publication, according to the current edition of JAMBulletin was “ remodeled principally to be responsive to the changing times and, at the same time keep the public abreast of the happenings in the Board as against the previous quarterly newsletter, the contents of which would have gone stale before its publication.”
It stressed that “Another important component of the bulletin is the publication of the weekly income and expenditure of the Board. This innovation, which was borne out of the transparency and audacious disposition of the present leadership of the Board coupled with the impetus of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and the recent presidential directive on daily publication of financial transactions involving the inflows and outflows of all MDAs, is in line with change agenda of the Federal Government. Similarly, JAMBulletin performs the crucial role of bridging the information gap between the Board and the general public as well as serving as a platform for the dissemination of its policy directions and programmes.”
The Editorial Board of the publication said the newsletter welcomes informed articles from education and non-education sectors alike “ as part of the current management’s vision to promote inclusiveness. “
