*L-R: Governors Dapo Abiodun, Rotimi Akerefolu, Kayode Fayemi and Babajide Sanwo-Olu*
South-west Governors on Monday met at the Ondo State Governor’s Office to discuss and later agreed to reorganise the security architecture in our various states.
The meeting was necessitated by the growing insecurity across the country and its recent emergence in the southwest region.
The Governors unanimously agreed to key into the recommendations contained in the technical report of the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria, in order to totally change the security apparatus of the region.
To ensure that it becomes a reality, they raised awareness for concerned authorities to see and act in accordance with what the region was putting in place to ensure the security of lives and property.
The Chairman of Southwest Governors Forum and Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, urged everyone to be calm as this is a permanent change from what the security architecture currently is.
Lastly, the Forum took a position on the growing debate on nomadism. The position is in line with that of Governor Ganduje of Kano State that nomadism couldn’t possibly be practised at this age and time.
