DSS Grills Suspended EFCC Chairman

Few hours after his suspension yesterday, the Department of State Services, DSS, has begun interrogating the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa.

Bawa was suspended via a statement by the Director of Information in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Willie Bassey, saying President Bola Tinubu ordered Bawa’s suspension to allow for the probe of weighty allegations of abuse of office against him.

Shortly after the announcement, the DSS confirmed the arrival of Bawa at its headquarters in Abuja for grilling.

Dr. Peter Afunanya, DSS spokesman said in a statement: “The Department of State Services (DSS) has invited Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, the suspended Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Bawa arrived a few hours ago.

“The invitation relates to some investigative activities concerning him.”
