Covid-19 vaccination: Countries begin to suspend AstraZeneca after deadly side effects

Few days after Austria had suspended the administration of AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines following the death of one person who took it, the vaccine has also been suspended by the Government of Denmark following a serious side effect of “fatal blood clots” traced to the vaccine, after usage.
Danish Health Minister, Magnus Heunicke, today, March 11, tweeted that a serious side effect of “fatal blood clots” is being traced to the vaccine, saying that the ministry would subject the vaccine to further probe to ascertain its total safety.

Heunicke tweeted: “The health authorities have, due to precautionary measures, suspended vaccination with AstraZeneca following a signal of a possible serious side effect in the form of fatal blood clots. It is currently not possible to conclude whether there is a connection, but we act early, as it needs to be thoroughly investigated.”

But reacting quickly to this, the United Kingdom Government insisted that AstraZeneca/Oxford Covid-19 vaccine was tested and trusted.

“We’ve been clear that it’s both safe and effective… and when people are asked to come forward and take it, they should do so in confidence,” Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s official spokesperson told AFP.

Meanwhile, a whole lot of Nigerian VIPs, including President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SGF/PTF chairman on Covid-19, Boss Mustapha, Informationa Minister, Lai Mohammed, and numerous others, have, so far, been administered with the AstraZeneca vaccine, after the exercise began on March 5, 2021./ SHARE THIS
