COVID-19: Nigeria records 553 highest confirmed cases in one day

Lagos state recorded its highest daily tally of confirmed coronavirus cases according to the latest statistics announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) late yesterday.
It recorded 378 new cases to bring its total to 4,755, which is exactly five times higher than that of Kano now 951, the state with the second-highest number of confirmed cases.
In the result announced by the NCDC 12 Nigerians died yesterday from the pandemic to bring total deaths to 273 in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
NCDC said that no new state reported a case in the last 24 hours while 2,856 cases have been discharged.
The 553 new cases are reported from 15 states – Lagos (378), FCT (52), Delta (23), Edo (22), Rivers (14), Ogun (13), Kaduna (12), Kano (9), Borno (7), Katsina (6), Jigawa (5), Oyo (5), Yobe (3), Plateau (3), Osun (1).
