Late Sen. Buruji Kashamu who succumbed to Corona Virus pandemic yesterday in Lagos, will be committed to mother earth today at 12 noon in his Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State country home, in line with Islamic rites, a statement by his spokesman, Austin Oniyokor, has confirmed.
The statement said the lawmaker, who represented Ogun East Senatorial District and was also the Ogun state governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019 general election, died after a brief illness in a private hospital in Lagos, at the age of 62.
The statement read inter alia: “The Shodipo Kashamu family of Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State, has announced the death of the patriarch of the family, Senator Buruji Kashamu.
“Kashamu, 62, died today (Saturday) at a private hospital after a brief illness.
“His remains will be interred by 12 noon, Sunday, August 9, 2020, in his Ijebu-Igbo country home, in accordance with Islamic rites.”
