Bala-Usman lauds attempt by Ogun State to resuscitate abandoned Olokola Sea Port Project

Managing Director of the Nigeria Port Authority (NPA), Hajia Hadiza Bala Usman has commended efforts by the Ogun State Government to resuscitate the abandoned Olokola Sea Port project in the Ogun East Senatorial District of the State.

She gave the commendation when the state Deputy Governor Engr. ( Mrs) Noimot Salako-Oyedele led a government delegation on an official visit to her at NPA’s Headquarters, Marina, Lagos, to seek expert advice and ensure synergy between Ogun State government and NPA on the project.

Hajia Bala Usman said Ondo State Government had brought similar proposal and encouraged collaboration between the two States to achieve overall success of the venture.

On the deputy governor’s entourage was the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, and some other top government officials.

After the visit, Engr. Salako-Oyedele in her office in Abeokuta played host to the Acting Chief Executive Officer of Fujairah Terminals, UAE, Engr. Abdulaziz Al Balooshi  and intimated him with discussions with the NPA Managing Director.

She noted that a meeting was also held with the officials of the Consulate General, United Arab Emirates (UAE) Affairs in Lagos, on how to invest in Ogun State, which informed the visit of Fujairah Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Head of Strategy and others from the UAE to the State, for an aerial survey of Apapa, Tin -Can Island and Olokola, in order to have an idea of the project.

Engr. Abdulaziz Al Balooshi, in his remark said, the visit to Ogun State was to assess the condition of the project, as well as, identify where to come in and partner with the State government.
