UPDATED: Nigerian Air Force confirms seven officers dead in Abuja military plane crash


The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed seven of its personnel lost their lives in its plane crash that occurred this morning, Sunday, February 21, in Abuja.

The Director of Air Force Public Relations and Information, Air Vice Marshal Ibikunle Daramola, who confirmed the casualty on his Twitter handle, said the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao, has ordered immediate investigation into the cause of the crash.


Daramola tweeted: “This is to confirm that a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Beechcraft KingAir B350i aircraft crashed while returning to the Abuja Airport after reporting engine failure enroute Minna.

“First responders are at the scene. Sadly, all seven personnel onboard died in the crash. The Chief of the Air S taff (CAS), Air Marshal Amao, has ordered an immediate investigation into the incident.

“While urging the public to remain calm and await the outcome of investigation, the CAS, on behalf of all NAF personnel, commiserates with the families of the deceased.”/ SHARE THIS
