Former Borno State Commissioner of Health Dr. Haruna Mshelia and his counterpart from Local Government and Emirate Affairs, Hon. Usman Zannah who won the House of Representatives seats on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) with wide margin in their respective Constituencies have expressed appreciation to Governor Kashim Shettima who is the leader of the party in the state.

They also commended efforts of leadership of the party at the national, state and local government levels, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for conducting peaceful, free and fair elections despite security threats in some parts of the state on the elections day.

In  separate press statements signed by each of the newly elected federal Lawmakers, both specifically thanked Governor Kashim Shettima, Chairman of the party, Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, stakeholders and the people of their respective constituents for their support where teaming of their party loyalisst came out enmasse to vote them into office last Saturday.

Dr. Mshelia contested for the House of Representatives, Askira – Uba /Hawul Federal Constituency, scored 51,763, while PDP trailed second with 30,560, with a difference of 21,203.

Likewise, Hon. Usman Zanah emerged as the winner of Kaga, Magumeri and Gubio federal constituency having polled 30,683 against the PDP’s Bilal Ali’s 7,722.

Dr. Mshelia said, ” I want to thank our national, zonal, state, local government and ward APC leaders, especially our Senator -Elect, Governor Kashim Shettima and his Deputy, Usman Mamman Durkwa, our State Chairman, Ali Bukar Dalori and all our supporters in Hawul and Askira-Uba Federal Constituency whom I worked closely with them.

“My campaign slogan has always been ‘Quality Leadership with Results’ (In Hausa: a Gani a Kasa), I want to assure the people of my constituency that I will pursue that vigorously to ensure that dividends of democracy gets to the door steps of all and sundry.

” I want to urge our teaming APC supporters to come out enmasse in the next coming Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections scheduled to hold on 9th March, 2019 and vote massively to our Gubernatorial Candidate, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, and other candidates on the platform of our great party”. Dr. Mshelia said.
Likewise, Honorable Zannah said his gratitude goes to the good people of Borno in general and constituents of Kaga, Magumeri and Gubio federal constituency.

“I pledge to be not only a good Representative but the needed catalyst for good governance which is the cardinal principle of my campaign.

“I promise to represent and treat all members of my constituency with utmost fairness without any prejudice nor ill-will against any person.

He also thank his campaign organization and all supporters in the three local government areas.

Mr Zannah said his most reserved gratitude goes to his boss, Governor Kashim Shettima, whom he said had been a fatherly figure and political mentor to him.

He also thanked the state party executives especially the state party chairman, Ali Bukar Dalori, and all other local government and wards chairmen of APC.

Furthermore, Zannah thanked leadership and entire members of Hon. Usman Campaign Organization (HUSCO) Hon. Usman Zannah Foundation (HUFAF), MAKGUZ, Youths, and other Political Associations and stakeholders for their unflinching support to his candidature emerged victorious in the free and fair polls across his constituency.
