When you had the opportunity to employ people at the local government in those days, you employed people with higher degrees to a minimum local government cadre of level 04. Today, some of them have retired as permanent secretary, some are giants in there respective chosen careers. Your good woks will live beyond you. Alhaji Abbas, You are the proponent of the most famous Ejigbo local government anthem. Ilu Ejigbo. Olokiki laje.. … . You single handedly provides Ejigbo with Nitel analog line with a mast mounted at Ede to ease the telephony problems of our people., when such opportunity eluded us in our local government.
You are the first Chairman that initiated the House numbering, street naming, Day care giver in all communities, dumping sites, waste collection vehicle on public/private initiative. Alhaji Tunde Abbas was the first Executive Chairman that constructed a standard and edifying legislative building in the then Oyo state during Babangida era.
You initiated, renovated a building, and brought both Magistrate and High court to Ejigbo local government. While Baba Ogiyan donated his building as the Judges quarters.
Alhaji Abbas initiated, constructed and fenced an eleven blocks of annex buildings to house all the federal and State agencies at Sasa Eku Osolo. He also provided a modern residential layout plan at the same location for Ejigbo home and abroad. Abbas through vision and focus as a corporate advocator brought to governance the establishment of various profitable business venture schemes into the local government administration, such as block making factory, supermarket, cool spot, catering service centers , soap making, farming and animal rearing enterprises.
He initiated and started the construction of Ola, Ika, and Isundunrin roads with there drainage, before the abrupt termination of the Democratic process by late Sanni Abacha.
Alh Abbas constructed the first primary schools in Songbe to ease the suffering of pupils around that axis., He employed the highest number of primary schools teachers between 1991-1993 , some of whom are the most senior tutors today. Alhaji Abdul salaam Abbas was Awarded the best local government chairman by UNICEF in Nigeria, this prompted Baba Ogiyan to installed African UNICEF director as Baselu of Ejigboland. He was also awarded the best local government Chairman in Nigeria at Nigeria institute of international affairs Lagos along with prominent Nigerians , like former Senate president , Senator Wabara in his brief stint as Ejigbo local government Chairman between 1991- November 1993.
