Zulum spoke at the week end while reacting to some misleading information trending in some online and social media platforms which misquoted him on the directive he issued to Permanent Secretaries and Chief Executives of Boards and Parastatals to ‘immediately screen and submit the list of their genuine staff that are not getting their salaries to the Head of Service, Alhaji Mohammed Hassan for consideration’.

He said, his administration which believe in rule of law and due process is in full support for introduction of Bio Metric Data by his Boss and Predecessor, Senator Shettima to sanitize the civil service.

His words: “The leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Borno Chapter, led by its Chairman, Comrade Bulama Abiso were in my office for a courtesy call on Thursday together with Chairman of the Bio- Metric Data, Mallam Bako.

” Both intimated me on the happenings of the exercise since it was introduced in the last three years ago, I assured them that government will intervene to ensure speedy completion of the exercise.

” I then directed all Permanent Secretaries and Chief Executives of Boards and Parastatals to immediately screen and submit the list of their genuine staff that are not getting their salaries to the Head of Service, Alhaji Mohammed Hassan for consideration.

“Similarly, all those who retired before four months ago should also go to their respective Ministries, Department and Agencies so that their list could be compiled for immediate consideration and payment of their pension.

” I also directed that all Ministries, Department and Agencies to submit the list of affected beneficiaries on or before Monday 3rd June, 2019, and any Chief Executive that submit ghost figure or person will be sanctioned accordingly “. The Governor clarified.

Meanwhile, the new Governor who took his time early morning on Friday and paid unscheduled visits to Ministries at Musa Usman Secretariat in Maiduguri, directed that all civil servants who were on seat at the time of visit be paid their leave grants and other entitlements immediately as an incentive for commitment.

The governor who was visibly disappointed with the number of staff who were less than 200 out of the more than 12,000 workforce at the secretariat said, ” This administration will not tolerate laziness or lackadaisical attitude to work, and anyone found doing so, will have his/herself to blame”, he warned.
