For the umpteenth time, gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram sect have attacked a remote village in the Damboa local government area of Borno state, northeastern Nigeria.
For decades now, the north east region has been plagued by the violent activities of the Boko Haram terror group and its splinter groups.
In the recent attack January 12, 2021, occurred following the Nigerian military interception and killing of a high-profile member of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
It was believed to be a retaliation by the insurgents.
