The PDP Governor’s Forum under the leadership of Sokoto state Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, yesterday confirmed former Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido as PDP leader and face of the country’s democracy.
Speaking on behalf of the governor’s during the Sallah homage on Lamido at his hometown Bamaina, Senator Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state said our coming to Bamaina was to offer a Sallah homage to our father and a leader.
“And also to discuss issues at the national and state levels, and take some words of advice from our elderly father on how to better our 2023 political developments”
“What we are doing now is part of strategy for 2023 because without him in the PDP it is not only Jigawa that will suffer, but the entire country. So we discussed so many issues, because Lamido is PDP, and PDP is Lamido. We just come to appease our leader when we found that there are some tendencies that will make him unhappy”
Mohammed added that all those opposing Lamido were his boys, adding that the party acknowledged him as one of its national leader of great repute.
This august visit of Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state on Lamido was coming against the backdrop of a recent publication tagged unease in PDP over anti-party allegation where the North- West zonal leadership was alleged to have accused the former governor of Jigawa State, Sule
Lamido of being the brain behind the leadership crisis which erupted in Jigawa PDP.
On account of that, the Bauchi state Governor indicated that the Jigawa chapter of the party is going to have a caretaker committee as the tenure of its state’s EXCO has elapsed.
” Our colleague’s of the PDP Governors says I should come and assure our leader, Sule Lamido that his personal integrity, pedigree and his respect is intact. He is the face of PDP and the face of our country’s democracy. All those opposing Lamido were his boys, adding that the PDP acknowledged him as one of its national leader “
