
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Oyo State chapter, has called for a mass action over the increasing occurrences of xenophobic attacks on Nigerians living in South Africa.
Asubiojo Olujuwon,NANS Chairman, Oyo State, in a press statement said, the association “cannot seat idle and watch as Nigerians in the diaspora are being exposed to harsh treatments and risk of their dear lives”.
He therefore called on all Nigerian students in Oyo state, neighborhood-states, civil liberty organisations, global sympathisers and all concerned fellows to troop out and joins the mass action on Thursday, September 7, saying that “an injury to one is an injury to all”.
“We shall be grieving in procession to the Federal Secretariat, Ikolaba, Ibadan to express our sad concerns and awake the consciousness of Nigerian government to rescue our dear fellows in South Africa,” he stated.
