The Police on Thursday detained Senator Elisha Abbo over his controversial assault on the saleswoman of an adult toys shop in Abuja.
The detention was carried out by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command of the Police which has subsequently commenced investigation into the case.

The assault carried out by the Senator was captured on a trending video on social media and it sparked a national outrage.
The Senate has however also set up a committee to investigate the incident.
Senator Abbo at a press conference last Wednesday, expressed regret at the incident and pleaded for forgiveness but critics insisted that he must still face prosecution.
