The Senate today confirmed Abduslrasheed Bawa as the new chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The confirmation process lasted two hours in the screening exercise done in plenary and presided over by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan.
Bawa who was grilled by about 15 senators used the opportunity to deny the allegation of selling 24 recovered properties while heading the EFCC’s Port Harcourt office.
Bawa, one of the pioneer staff of EFCC has undergone several specialised training in different parts of the world, and was one of the pioneer EFCC Cadet Officers in 2005.
He holds a B.Sc degree in Economics, and Masters in International Affairs and Diplomacy.
