Sen. Omo-Agege hails Warri court ruling, says it’s victory for democracy

Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege (APC-Delta) has hailed the judgement of the Warri Federal High Court, declaring him as the valid candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the Delta Central Senatorial District election.

Omo-Agege gave the commendation on Thursday in a statement by Godwin Anaughe, his Senior Special Assistant, Communications and Strategy, in Abuja.

This newspaper reports that Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Warri, had, on April 2, struck out a suit brought by Mr Emerhor Germanson and Mr Ima Niboro for being incompetent and lacking in merit.

According to the suit, the duo asked the court to declare them Senatorial and House of Representatives candidates of APC in Delta Central Senatorial District and Udu/Ughelli Federal Constituency respectively

Reacting, the lawmaker said the judgement was a victory for all candidates of the APC in the state who fought so hard to achieve victory for the party.

According to him, this judgement is also a moment of profound clarity following months of frenzied media coverage that tended to confuse and mislead the general public.

”It is a tremendous victory for democracy, rule of law and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

”It is a victory for the people of Delta Central Senatorial District who voted for Senator Ovie Omo-Agege to return to the Senate as a ranking Senator to continue the good work he started three years ago.

”And it rebukes Emerhor Oghenetega Germanson’s attempt to steal the election and subvert the will of the people.

”We applaud the Court for its decision and for affirming what we already knew to be the will of the people of Delta Central Senatorial District,” he said.
