Hon. Abiodun Abudu-Balogun (born 11th February, 1963) is a Management Consultant, Businessman and Politician. He was a Special Consultant (Transport) in Lagos State.
A successful businessman, he is the CEO of Actionline Investments Limited with diverse interests in Petroleum, Auto services, Real Estate and the financial market.
As a Management Consultant, he has designed and operated a wide range of training and revenue generating programs for many private organizations in Nigeria and government agencies like Nigerian Customs Service, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Lagos State Government and many Local Governments. He was also involved in the takeoff of Ogun TRACE. He had earlier worked briefly in Potomac Consulting after graduation and NYSC in 1989.
In 2011, he was elected into the National Assembly, House of Representatives under the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) platform now APC to represent ljebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency where he was the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Internal Security in Nigeria. He also served on six other committees like Petroleum Upstream, Environment, Federal Character, Special Duties, Public Procurement and Rural Development.
As a very active member of parliament, he moved the first earth-shaking motion on Petroleum issues-the Motion on Kerosine scarcity in Nigeria- which later led to a chain of events in the petroleum industry.
For this active role, he was nominated into the Asiwaju Bola Tinubu led 10-man National Committee on fuel Subsidy Management set up by ACN then. To his credit were 11 other motions and 2 Bills (i. Bill on Amendment of Public Procurement ACT to ensure projects continuity and other matters appertaining thereto. ii. Telephone Consumers Protection Bill to regulate the business of Telemarketing in Nigeria). All passed.
He was adjudged to be the best Rep ever produced in his constituency with several projects, empowerments and employments facilitated for his people. He has many awards to his credit. He is a very versatile person.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
Hon. Abiodun Balogun has an MBA degree in International Business Management from Lagos State University, HND in Marketing Management from Federal Polytechnic Bida. He is also an alumnus of the prestigious International Law Institute (ILI) Georgetown University Washington DC USA (Public Procurement Program). A member of Nigeria Institute of Management (MNIM), he has attended many local and international programs including the OTC conferences in Houston Texas, Cradle Solution Program in Houston Texas USA among others.
He is an ardent Tennis Player and happily married with children.
