Post corps members to Delta State reverine communities – Deputy Governor

The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro, has appealed to the National Youths Service Corps ( NYSC) authorities to post corps members to the riverine communities of the state, especially Warri South West Local Government Area, which he said was in serious need of teachers and other manpower.

He spoke when he received the state NYSC Coordinator , Mrs Olutayor Samuel (JP) in Government House, Asaba.

The deputy governor assured that the state government would ensure there was peace in every part of the state, assuring that all corps members posted to the state were adequately protected and their needs taken care of.

He expressed delight with the coordinator and her team for their visit, assuring that the government of Delta State would do everything possible to uphold the vision that gave birth to the scheme.

He explained further: “The vision of the NYSC is a very laudable one. It has added value to the Nations growth. For us in Delta State, we are out and prepared to give our support to the scheme to achieve those set out goals.”

The Deputy Governor commended the coordinator for recognising and appreciating the efforts of Delta State Government towards the overall growth of the scheme in state.

Earlier, the NYSC Coordinator, Mrs Olutayor Samuel (JP) commended the Deputy Governor and Government of Delta State for the assistance the scheme had been receiving since its inception in the state.

She said: “We deemed it necessary to come and appreciate you the Deputy Governor of the state for the wonder works you have been doing for NYSC, Delta State. We rated Delta State high in our scheme. Your contribution to The NYSC is second to none.  We have indeed recorded great assistance from this Government.”

“You have always been there for us. The corps members are our children.  We are looking forward for more support from Your Excellency. Thank you very much for the reception. God bless you and everyone present,” she stated.

She assured that corps members would be posted to every parts of the state including Warri South West and Udu local Government Areas, which she agreed were before now, lagging behind in terms corps members.

Those in attendance during the visits include, Mr Charles Aniagwu, Commissioner for Information;  Dr Henry Sakpra,  Commissioner for Special Duties Government House Asaba; Commissioner for Youth Development,  Comrade Ifeanyi Eguyenga; Deputy Chief of Staff, Government House Asaba, Mr, Jude Sinebe  and many others.
