Men of Ogun state police command on Saturday 24th of August 2019 arrested three suspected armed robbery suspects who have been terrorizing motorists along Odogbolu/ Ijebu Ode Express way.
The suspects were arrested when policemen attached to Odogbolu division were on patrol of the highway sighted the men at about 6 am placing themselves in an ambush manner along the express road. On seen the policemen, the three of them took to their heels but they were hotly chased and apprehended.
The arrested suspects are; Johnson Afokolu, m’, victor Michael m’ and Jacob Usang m’. On interrogation, they confessed been responsible for most of robbery cases in the area and that other members of their gang always joined them on special operations.
Recovered from them are; one toy gun, six torch lights, military face cap, dried weeds suspected to be Indian hemp, knife, assorted clothes and three different types of hand set.
Meanwhile, the commissioner of police, CP Bashir Makama has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to special anti robbery squad for discreet investigation. He also ordered a massive manhunt for the remaining members of the gang in order to ensure sanity along the express road.
