Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State was among prominent dignitaries that on Saturday graced the turbanning of Alhaji Liad Tella, a veteran journalist, as the Asiwaju Musulumi (Leader of the Muslim Faithful) of Iwoland.

Also present at the ceremony held at the ancient town were the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba AbdulRasheed Akanbi and the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Professor Is-Haq Oloyede.

Alhaji Tella said the honour done him would further encourage him on his support for all Islamic activities in the city and also on humanitarian services throughout Osun State.

“I fill fulfilled this is coming at this stage of my retirement. After decades of meritorious services in the public and private sectors, one is happy that community service is beckoning.

“I am more than prepared to spend the rest of my life impacting on lives, mentoring young ones and ensuring harmony in our state,” he was quoted as saying.

Others honoured alongside Alhaji Tella include a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, Khalid Gbadebo Badrudeen; a former Acting Accountant General in Osun state, AbdulWaheed Olajire Ayinla and a businesswoman, Samirat Abidemi Oriolowo.
