
Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has been appointed as a member of the Peoples’ Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council.
Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State who is Director-General of the PDP PCC, confirmed by on Sunday.
In a statement he issued on the development, Tambuwal said: “The leadership of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council wishes to formally announce that Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has been appointed as a member of the Presidential Campaign Council with immediate effect.
“This is part of our continuous effect in joining hands with our presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to recover our great country, Nigeria.”
Dogara was one of the Christians who led the opposition to the Muslim-Muslim ticket of his former party, the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The group formed against the opposition eventually agreed to back the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, for the 2023 presidential election.
