Oduduwa University Founder, Ramon Adedoyin, Arrested Over OAU Postgraduate Student’s Death

The Osun State Police Command has arrested the founder of Oduduwa University, Ipetumodu, Prince Ramon Adegoke Atobatele Adedoyin, in connection with the death of Timothy Adegoke, a postgraduate student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.

Adegoke was said to have lodged at the Hilton Hotels and Resort, Ile Ife, owned by Adedoyin on November 5.

The MBA student came to Ife to take an examination at the OAU Distance Learning Centre, Moro Campus of the university, when he was declared missing.

Spokesperson for Osun Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, earlier said that a case of a missing person was reported November 7, at Edunabon Police Station, adding that the matter was later transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department, Osogbo, for investigation on November 9, 2021.

Opalola said after detectives who swung into action immediately arrested six suspects in connection with the matter.

The OUI Founder and chairman of Hilton Hotel and Resort was also arrested on November 15, 2021. “He is currently in police detention, undergoing interrogation in connection with the case while awaiting the autopsy report from the hospital,” the Police spokesperson said.

Adegoke’s decapitated corpse wrapped in the hotel’s bed sheet was reportedly dug up in a shallow grave near the hotel. His telephone was tracked to an Alfa in Ejigbo. had lodged in Hilton Hotel located in Ile-Ife, Osun State between October 22 and November 5, 2021, before he was later declared missing.
