
The Chief Whip of the State of Osun House of Assembly, Mr. Tunde Olatunji has unveiled an initiative tagged, “Tunde Goes to Teach” programme at Anglican Middle School, Edun-abon, Ife-North Local Government, Area of Osun state.
The legislator, who later took the students in Mathematics, urged them to take the subject seriously, adding that no matter their future course of study, they would require the subject.
He charged them to imbibe the culture of hard work, integrity, tenacity of purpose and be focused.
Flagging off the project, the State Head of Service, who also double as the Chairman, State Education Steering Committee, Dr Oyebade Olowogboyega, lauded the initiative and pledged his personal support for the exercise which he described as morale booster to teachers and students.
Dr Olowogboyega who said the presence of the lawmaker in the classrooms is the first of its kind, teaching Mathematics and Civic Education would have a long lasting impact in the lives of the students.
Similarly, Mrs Arinola Oladimeji, director of Osun Middle Schools, described the lawmaker’s teaching initiative as a rare gesture and assured that SUBEB would be part of the initiative.
The Principal of the school, Mr Oladele Olaniyi, appreciated the lawmaker for his desire to motivate the students to attain greater height in life.
Books were later presented to all the students with a promise to give out prizes to the best students in Mathematics, English and Civic Education.
The students were indeed elated and highly motivated with the presence of Mr. Olatunji. They promised to be more dedicated and passionate about their studies so as to be great men and women in life.
This is a generational assignment and we are committed to fulfilling purpose.
