The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State on Thursday flagged off it’s 2019 Gubernatorial campaign at the popular Obasanjo stadium, Kaltungo with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo representing President Muhammadu Buhari as Special Guest of honour.
Osinbajo called on Gombe electorate to vote APC at all levels, insisting that the party is secular and not religious as touted in some quarters.
Also at the campaign was Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
Both Osinbajo and Mustapha particularly used the occasion to tell the mammoth crowd that the APC is not a Muslim party and that President Muhammadu Buhari has no intention of Islamizing Nigeria.
Vice-President Osinbajo told the crowded APC supporters that the APC is a party for everybody, as such, they should not be deceived that it has an Islamic agenda or a terrorist party declaring that he is not only a Christian but a Pastor who has worked very well with President Muhammadu Buhari whom he described as a very honest and sincere person.
The elated Vice President who was welcome by mammoth crowd also received over 2, 000 PDP defectors led by Senator Joshua Lidani.
Osinbajo later presented 2019 Gubernatorial flag to the Gombe State standard bearer, Alh Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya before he departed to Abuja at about 1745.
APC flagbearers in Gombe South led by Col BK Amos took turn to address party supporters amidst pomp and pageantry.
