The days of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as National Chairman of All Progressives Party (APC) may be numbered as the party has called an emergency National Executive Council Meeting (NEC) to deliberate and take action on crucial matters rocking the party.
Notice to this effect was raised Friday night by Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Victor Giadom.
Giadom, who signed a statement in his capacity as Acting National Secretary, announced the convocation of an emergency meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party for Tuesday, March 17, 2020.
He said: “In line with Article 25 (B) (II) of the Constitution of our great Party, members of the APC National Executive Committee are invited to attend an emergency meeting which is scheduled to hold on Tuesday March 17, 2020 at 3:00 pm Prompt”, Giadom said in the statement which he signed as “Acting National Secretary”.
National Publicity Secretary of the party had on Wednesday announced the approval of the nomination of Arch. Waziri Bulama as acting National Secretary.
Although no agenda was stated in the notice of the scheduled NEC meeting, it is, however, not unconnected to the already ballooned crisis within the party that had pitched the party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, against his estranged political godson and governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki.
Just this week, Oshiomhole was suspended from the party by an FCT High Court following his suspension earlier from the party by the Edo State chapter of the APC.
