Gunmen have on Wednesday night attacked community at Gidan Maidawa in Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
Muhammad Abdullahi, Director Admin and General duties, Dutse local government council who spoke on behalf of the Council Chairman, Bala ‘Yar-Gaba, said one person was killed and ten others have sustain serious injuries during the attack.
He said the gunmen came around 2:30 a. m with weapons shooting sporadically and injured many residents, including children and women in the area.
He said other victims who sustained high degree of injuries were referred to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital in Kano. An official said.
Shedding more lights on the matter, Jigawa state Police Commissioner, CP Bala Zama Senchi, confirmed the incidence.
He said the hoodlums was an organized group from neiboring states, assuring that ” we won’t relent in our efforts in taking proactive measures.”
According to him a powerful police square have since been drafted to the area to unravel the hideout’s and possible the arrest of the disgruntled elements assuring the public police readiness to ensuring protection of lives and property of the citizenry.
Meanwhile no arrest was made yet by the Police in connection with the incident.
