Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Is-Haq Oloyede has been named Person of the Year 2019 by the LEADERSHIP newspapers.
The news was incidentally broken to Professor Oloyede by the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu.
The latest edition of JAMBulletin, made available on Monday to The State Online by Dr Fabian Benjamin, JAMB Spokesman, disclosed that Professor Oloyede was on a routine visit to the Federal Ministry of Education, when the Minister drew his attention to “the recognition as he and Mr. Femi Otedola were jointly honoured as 2019 Leadership persons of the year.”
Saying he was “ pleasantly surprised” with the news from the Minister, JAMBulletin, a weekly publication of the Office of JAMB Registrar said “ Prof Oloyede expresses his deep appreciation to Leadership Newspaper for the recognition it has accorded his modest efforts in the service of the nation.”
In another development, the Non- Academic Staff Union of Education and Associated Institutions (NASU) has honoured Professor Oloyede with a fellowship award.
Secretary General of NASU, Prince Peters Adeyemi, while conferring the award of the JAMB Registrar at the Quadrennial Delegates Conference held on Tuesday, in Abuja, commended Oloyede Oloyede’s leadership at JAMB which has “ translated into harmonious and cordial working relationship among the NASU Branch of JAMB-Abuja, the Abuja FCT Council of NASU and NASU Secretariat.”
He told Oloyede that “NASU honoured you for your transparency, humility and demonstrated commitments towards the emancipation of the oppressed and the less priviledged within the society as well as for your distinguished personality and positive transformation of JAMB.”

In deed, this is the type of person we need to pilot the affairs of this country.
