…AFIT Provost lauds JAMB Registrar for introduction of CAPS

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, (FUTA), Professor Joseph Adeola Fuwape has described the Registrar of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Is-haq Oloyede as a man of integrity and transparency.

Professor Fuwape stated this when the Ondo State Coordinator of JAMB, Mr. Babatunde Benjamin Bamisaye visited him in his office recently, according to the latest edition of JAMBulletin, made available on Sunday to The State Online, by Dr Fabian Benjamin, JAMB Spokesman.

He said Prof Oloyede’s unbeatable records of performance, coupled with his leadership qualities have brought meaningful development to tertiary education in the country. He promised to sustain the existing cordial relationship between FUTA and JAMB.

In his remarks, the JAMB’s State Coordinator pledged the Board’s commitment to entrenching a better working relationship with FUTA.

He used the opportunity provided by the visit to brief Professor Fuwape on transformations been recorded at JAMB under Professor Oloyede. One of these, according to him was the introduction of the National Identification Number (NIN) that would be used for the 2020 UTME. Registration to address the problem of identity theft and multiple registrations among othe r advantages.

He said the Board would continue to relate with tertiary institutions and other critical stakeholders for optimal productivity.

In another development, the Provost , Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Professor Mohammed Dauda has commended Professor Oloyede for the introduction of the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), which he said has greatly sanitized and restored integrity to admission process of tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

He gave the commendation in an exclusive interview with JAMBulletin, a weekly publication of the office of Registrar of JAMB.

He said CAPS has greatly increased the quality of intakes of AFIT as it has made it easy to contend with over 6,000 candidates that annually subscribe to the institution whose carrying capacity is 2,500.

Professor Dauda expressed his desire to make AFIT a centre of excellence and added that “ We have a robust relationship with Cranfield University (United Kingdom), among other things , in other to make AFIT a centre of excellence.”
