Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, has commended the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Ishaq Oloyede, for the niche he has carved for himself and the Board.
“N i g e r i a n s a r e h a p p y w i t h t h e achievements of JAMB and we at the Federal Ministry of Education are proud to superintend the activities of the Board at this time,” he said.
The Minister, according to the latest edition of JAMBulletin made available to The State Online by JAMB’s Spokesperson, Dr Fabian Benjamin, spoke at the inauguration of the new General Services Department building and a tour of the power station housing a 1000 KVA and two 500 KVA generators at the Headquarters of the Board in Bwari.

Referring to Oloyede as an icon of the anti-corruption war, the Minister said Nigerians are happy with JAMB because the Registrar has become a symbol of hope and inspiration that the Nigeria of our dream is within grasp.
Malam Adamu charged the leadership of tertiary institutions in the country to take advantage of the features provided by the JAMB’s Central Admissions Processing System(CAPS), an automated and seamless platform for the conduct of admission.
He warned that “any institution that admits candidates without prior approval of the Board or outside CAPS would be considered as aiding corruption in the admission process.”
He said, “The Central Admissions Processing System ensures due process, fairness, discipline and equity in the process and it is through this automated system that ordinary Nigerians are assured of getting their dues.”
Continuing, the Minister said, “It is also instructive that CAPS protects the traditional rights of the Senate or Academic Board of the various institutions since CAPS does not allow anyone other than the Admissions Officer and the Vice Chancellor, Rector or Provost to propose or recommend any candidate for admission.”
He further stressed that CAPS ensures documentation and tracking of any deviation by any institution from the approved policy on admission. He urged the leadership of the various tertiary institutions to conduct all admissions on CAPS.
