Spokesperson of the Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ambassador Tunde Oladunjoye on Thursday mourned the transition of Mr Kolade Olanrewaju, the Ogun State Correspondent of Vanguard newspapers.
In an emotionally laden statement, Oladunjoye wrote that: “ Today (Thursday) would have been a very happy day for me with my LG’s commissioner nominee of 36 years of age, giving hope for the youth.
“But Kolade Olanrewaju, the one I call Koladewaju, a friend, brother, journalist and for a long time, the Ogun State corespondent of Vanguard newspapers, exited this sinful world and gave me bitter-sweet-bitter feelings.
“Kola was my PP (Personal Person). There was nothing we didn’t discuss freely, even when we had differing views. He was an experienced, energetic and hardworking journalist. Very outspoken, even to a fault. He remembered and appreciated good gestures, no matter how small. He was my unapologetic adviser.
“When he survived stroke, I went to Abeokuta to visit him at home. He was very surprised but I was wondering why he was. I spent long time with him and his very supportive wife.
“Last week Monday, as I was waiting to see Aremo Segun Osoba at his Ibara GRA, Kolade drove in. I was very surprised to see him drive after the stroke attack. I thanked God and prayed for him in my mind.
“I however had my reservation when he came down and I saw him still limping. We exchanged pleasantries and he gave me his opinion on one or two things in the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led government and, as usual of him, added his suggestions.
“Aremo Osoba chose to ride with me in my car, so, I only waved to Kolade as I drove out of the expansive compound.
“Alas! That was my last wave! Kolade is gone. I pray that his soul will Rest In Peace. May God stand and comfort the family in this moment of grief!
“Bye-bye Koladewaju.
