NYSC corrects media reports on increase in corps members allowance

The National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) has corrected media reports credited to it’s Director General, Major General Suleiman Kazaure that allowance of corps members would soon be increased.

Kazaure was widely qouted in the media as giving the promise in Abuja on Friday during the swearing-in ceremony of 3,022 Batch A corps members at the FCT orientation camp.

But Mrs Adenike Adeyemi, Director, Press and Public Relations of the NYSC, in a text message to The State Online on Saturday evening stated that: “The DG has not confirmed an increase in corps members’ allowance. His response was that the Federal Government will determine corps member’s allowance when the new minimum wage is determined and effected by Government.”
