NPHCDA, NSHIP HOLDS 2020 DIP MEETING IN ABUJA, DELIBERATES ON SUSTAINABILITY PLAN

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) and Nigeria States Health Investment Project (NSHIP), a World Bank assisted project aimed at strengthening the Health System flagged of its 2020 Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP) meeting on Wednesday 4th December 2019 at 3Js Hotel, Utako, Abuja.
The meeting which is expected to last for 3 Days had in attendance stakeholders such as the National Project Implementation Unit Coordinator (NPC) Hajiya Binta Ismail who represented the Executive Director (NPHCDA), Dr. Faisal Shuaib, NSHIP/World Bank Task Team Leader (TTL) Mr. Gyuri Fritsche, and Project Coordinators (PCs) from the Implementing States of Borno, Ondo, Nassarawa, Adamawa, Gombe, Taraba, Bauchi and Yobe. Borno/NSHIP project Coordinator, Hajiya Habiba Saidu represented the Executive Director, Borno State Primary Health Care Development Project, Dr. Sule Meleh at the crucial events including her Technical Team. The meeting harped extensively on the GAINS, LESSONS LEARNT AND SUSTAINABILITY PLAN, as the project is about to round up mid next year.
In her Welcome remarks, NSHIP/World Bank Task Team Leader (TTL) Mr. Gyuri Fritsche said, the project which is winding up in June next year need be sustained strictly on Performance Based Financing to ensure that funds generated at the Health Facilities level tobprovodie quality health care services to communities across the implementing states of the Federation.
He commended efforts of all stakeholders and urged government at all levels to embrace the Basic Health Care Provision Fund that is coming soon after NSHIP.
Earlier, the National Project Coordinator, Hajiya Binta Ismai’l appreciated the NSHIP family for their sacrifices aimed at strengthening the health system in the country.
She therefore advised all participants during the drafting of the 2020 DIP to be specific and focus more on payment of subsidies to Contracted Health Facilities as well as Advocacy and documentation of the Gains and lessons learnt to ensure sustainability at the community level.
Similarly on today (Thursday 5th December, 2019) the NPHCDA/NSHIP presented its Draft 2020 Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP) to World Bank Representatives for onward approval.
The Power-Point Presentation by each Implementing States of the Federation took place at the Conference Hall, 3Js Hotel Utako District.
Borno/NSHIP project Coordinator, Hajiya Habiba Saidu represented the Executive Director, Borno State Primary Health Care Development Project, Dr. Sule Meleh at the crucial events including her Technical Team; to include, Technical Assistant in charge of Borno/Yobe, Dr. Nji Valery Che, Project Accountant, Alhaji Modu Kolo, NPHCDA Focal Person, Mr. Peter Adamu, State Technical Assistant, Auwal Ahmed, Procurement Officer Bulama Mulima, Data Manager Victor Adeniyi, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer Mallam Yerwama Tijjani and the Communication Officer, Inusa Ndahi.
The participants are billed for tomorrow (Friday 5th December) to undergo extensive Training/Workshop by the World Bank Team on Overview of Pivot Table, Principles of Dashboard Creation and Maintenance, Hands-On Practice and Formalization of Dashboards as well as Wrap -Up final year 2019 DIP and next steps in 2020.
