Former Aviation Minister and Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has expressed consternation at the gaping disparity between the two governments of Nigeria and the United States of America, exclaiming Moment of Truth that while Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari appeases, rewards and even gives chieftaincy titles to the Boko Haram leadership and allied terrorists for unknown reasons, the US’ President Joe Biden strives to eliminate the Al-Qaeda leadership for common good. Indeed, a Moment of Truth!
Fani-Kayode’s lamentation via Twitter came against the backdrop of the recent hunting down and killing of Ayman al-Zawahiri, leader of the Salafi-jihadist group al-Qaeda and successor of late Osama bin Laden, who was equally killed by former US President Barak Obama’s forces while hiding in Pakistan in 2011.
President Biden had ordered a U.S. airstrike in Kabul, Afghanistan, that killed al-Zawahiri.
Al-Zawahiri was an early mentor to former Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, who was killed by a handful of U.S. forces while hiding in Pakistan, after joining Al-Zawahiri to mastermind the September 11 brutal attacks on the US, and later went underground.
He was, however, hunted down by the eagle-eyed US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) months before his killing in a no-holds-barred pursuit.
Fani-Kayode who lamented, Tuesday, August 2, in a tweet, expressed dismay that while the US’ government, at all times, strives to hunt down the terrorists to make them pay for their evil deeds, Nigerian government strives to reward, appease and even treat them with kid gloves instead of equally striving to eliminate the evil in our midst.
He said: “The Americans killed Osama bin Laden, AbuBakr Al Baghdadi and now Ayman Al Zawahiri. Kudos!
“But in Nigeria, we do not kill terrorists: we beg them, pay them, appease them, reward them, bow before them, give them chieftaincy titles & let them break into prison to free their brothers. What a shame! he tweeted.”/SHARE THIS
