Nigerian Legion members in Jigawa lament neglect

Members of the Jigawa Chapter of Nigerian Legion have complained bitterly over serious neglect from both government, public and private sectors despite selfless service they rendered during the period of the civil war era, the Legion state Chairman, Musa Bulama has stated.
Speaking to our correspondent during this year’s Army Remembrance Day in Dutse, he said ” despite our contributions in keeping the country united as well project its territorial integrity from disintegration, we are subjected to all sorts of molestation, and embarrassment in the hands of both government, private and public sectors”
” For quite often our members are been denied of their retiring benefits, talkless of getting prompt payment of military monthly pension. Others include lack of befitting Secretariat, nor functional utility vehicle to boost our operations as ex-service men to ease our union activities “
Another speaker, Mal. Saidu Hafuna Kila lamented over his plight, saying “since my retirement about forty years back, I am yet go collect my retiring benefits from Military Pension Board”, a situation which he said has devastated his living.
Kila called upon authorities concern to looked into his plight with a view to bringing succor to him.
