The National Chairman, Nigerian Legion, Brigadier General AJ Akpa (Rtd) has commended Corps Members for their impact in the education, health, agriculture and other sectors of the economy which spread across the country.
He also applauded the Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim for his efforts towards repositioning the NYSC Scheme.
Akpa spoke on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim in his office in Abuja.
General Akpa during the visit appealed for the deployment of more Corps Members to the legion in order to assist in its operations.
The Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim said NYSC is a National project that needs the support of every Nigerian.
He stated that the Scheme has contributed immensely to the socio-economic development of the country adding that NYSC is poised to document and showcase its tremendous achievements to the world.
Ibrahim who said Corps Members are loaded with potentials added that they need proper mentorship while he called on Nigerians to perform their statutory responsibilities to the Scheme to enhance the discharge of its functions.
