Nigerian Community in S/Africa relieved as notorious killer is eliminated

The Nigerian community in South Africa says they are relieved with the alleged killing of a notorious murderer and cultist, Mr Onuchukwu Ekemezie Chuks.

A member of the community who pleaded anonymity, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the telephone from Pretoria, South Africa, that Chuks, a native of Oraifite, Anambra, was fatally shot by unknown gunmen in Sunnyside area of Pretoria South.

The source said that the deceased was shot two weeks ago.

“Chuks was a terror to Nigerians and non-Nigerians in South Africa, especially in Pretoria area.

“He has allegedly killed many Nigerians and non-Nigerians. The most recent victim is one Junior Emeka, a jeweller in Pretoria,’’ the member said.

The source said that Chuks went to Junior’s shop in Sunnyside and shot him dead in December 2018 and that after the incident, Nigerians in the area reported to the police.

“When Chuks was trying to escape, the police shot him on the leg and arrested him.

“ He was arraigned for murder and possession of unlicensed firearm two days after his arrest.

“It was also alleged that his friends used powerful connections to bring him out before the next court date,’’ the source said.

According to the source, on gaining freedom, Chuks became furious and started terrorising Nigerians and non-Nigerians again.

“ He was fatally shot two weeks ago in Sunnyside. There are rumours that a rival group or law enforcement agents shot him.

“ His death is a relief to the community, especially in Sunnyside, Pretoria,’’ the source said. (NAN)
