NIGER STATE BAGS 2019 AFRICAN PR AWARD

The Niger State Government has been named among the recipients of 2019
African Public Relations Awards, which recognized Superior Achievement
in Branding Reputation and Engagement (SABRE).

The SABRE awards hosted by the Holmes Report in collaboration with the African Public Relations Association (APRA) celebrate PR campaigns that demonstrate the highest levels of creativity, integrity, and effectiveness.

The PR campaigns of FOSCIN, the Forum of Spokespersons of Critical Institutions in the state that bagged the award on behalf of the state was undertaken in partnership with a multi-award-winning PR agency, Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR), the Publishers of PRNigeria and Economic Confidential.

The Forum of Spokespersons of Critical Institutions in Niger State (FOSCIN) was established in 2017 to among other things create a cordial relationship among security agencies as well as ensure coordination and management of security information in Niger state.
The Forum has also in a proactive way helped to contain violent crimes
and manage crisis in the state through deployment of appropriate Public Relation strategies.

The Forum of Spokespersons of Critical Institutions in Niger State has since its establishment helped in complimenting government efforts in promoting healthy relationship and increased synergy between agencies and the media as well as ensuring seamless and efficient management of security information among the security agencies.

FOSCIN will collect a Certificate of Excellence in Association Category for promoting a healthy relationship between security agencies and the media in ensuring smooth communication, curbing inter-agency rivalry and tackling security challenges.

The President of African Public Relations Association (APRA), Mr. Yomi Badejo-Okusanya said the award ceremony would coincide with the annual
conference of APRA which would take place in Kigali, Rwanda.

The award ceremony is scheduled to take place May 13th to 17th 2019 in Kigali, Rwanda. APRA Rwanda 2019 has the theme ‘Africa & Storytelling.
The African Union Commission (AUC), the International Public Relation Association (IPRA), International Communications Consultancy Organization (ICCO), Rwanda Convention Bureau (RCB), Public Relations
Association of Rwanda (PRAR) and National Associations endorse APRA
across Africa.

“The President of the Republic of Rwanda, Paul Kagame will deliver the keynote address while former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama will chair the opening ceremony.

Other dignitaries expected at the occasion include the Deputy Chairperson of African Union Commission (AUC), Ambassador Kwesi Quartey and Media mogul, Dele Momodu.

Other Nigerian brands that won similar awards include The Nigerian Apex Bank, Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN and the Nigerian Air force,NAF.

APRA is the umbrella body for the practice of public relations in Africa and has as its goal – selling positive Africa through the instrument of its profession. It boasts of both individuals and national public relations associations, as members across nation states of Africa.
