NGO Commends Gov Zulum For Creating Hope, Awareness Amongst Traumatized Borno People

A Non Governmental Organization under the auspices of ‘Hope and Awareness Foundation’ (HAAF) based in Maiduguri has on Monday commended the present administration of Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum for the restoration of hope of the common man, especially giving succour and relief materials to victims of endless Boko Haram crisis which is bedevilling the state in the past 11 years.

This was disclosed by the HAAF Coordinator, Abbatar Abba Gana while briefing Journalists at his office situated at No:62 Circular Road Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

He said, his organization which was established and fully registered on 7th August 2018, was basically to give hope to the people and facilitate social development through creation of mass awareness.

To this end, he said, the Foundation is currently creating awareness amongst people on the control and prevention of COVID-19 pandemic and the increasing cases of rape to ensure healthy and peaceful living in the society.

Gana said, the idea behind the creation of the foundation is to ensure that society like Borno state which has suffered much devastation in the hands of terrorists, are well enlighten and aware of realities of the contemporary Borno, where Professor Zulum in his just one year in office execute 326 various projects which cut across Health, Education, Agriculture and other sectors.

He noted that, apart from distribution of palliatives to people living in nooks and crannies across liberated communities in the 27 local government areas, Professor Zulum has in the year under review, distributed over 350 operational vehicles to security agencies and upward review of monthly allowances to members of the Civilian Joint Tasks Force (CJTF) fight Boko Haram sect.

These achievements according to Gana, has restore hope, create awareness and resilience amongst the people, particularly farmers who have mostly returned to their farmlands as a result of adequate protection of lives and property initiated by the present administration.

He pledged that HAAF would continue to seek and partner with the Borno State Government in the area of good Health, Security, Education, Agriculture, Environment, Economic Development and fight injustice, which are some of the basis for establishing his Organization.
