The Arewa Youth Assembly has called on Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau to consolidate on the achievements of the outgoing Chairman, Northern Governors’ Forum (NGF), Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State.
Mohammed Danlami, Speaker of the assembly, made the call on Sunday in a congratulatory statement n Abuja.
”The leadership of Arewa Youth Assembly felicitates with His Excellency, Simon Lalong, Executive Governor of Plateau, on his emergence as Chairman, Northern Governors’ Forum.
”Arewa Youth Assembly believes in your leadership style and we hope this will bring a turn around to the peace loving people of northern Nigeria.
”His Excellency Lalong should consolidate on the achievements of the outgoing Chairman, Kashim Shettima, learn from his lapes and improve from his failure,” he said.
According to Danlami, Lalong should know that insecurity, unemployment, poverty, hatred, herdsmen /farmers clashes, bandits, kidnapping, illiteracy, etc, have taken over northern Nigeria.
”The whole 19 northern states of Nigeria is suffering from one problem or another.
”No one is secured. Killings of innocent people is increasing by the day.
”As I congratulate you today, I wish to advise you to please make history by bringing out agendas that will be beneficial to our people,” he said.
