Newly Re-elected Lawmaker, Wakawa Commends Electorate For Giving Him Mandate For Third Term

The incumbent Member of Borno State House of Assembly, Hawul State Constituency, Hon. Ayuba Wakawa on Sunday expressed appreciation for his teaming supporters of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and electorate who sacrificed their time and resources and trooped out enmass to re-elect him as their representative for the third time.
He said, despite the facts that some people resorted to campaign of calumny against his candidature, his doors would remain open for all inclusive government and advise that would move Hawul to a greater height.
Hon. Wakawa stated this in an interview after he was declared winner in the just concluded Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections that went on peacefully on Saturday 9th March in all the 27 Council Areas of the state.
Recalled that in the results declared, Hon. Wakawa scored 21,214 to beat his closest opponent from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Ibrahim Salihu who scored 9,765 votes. Other opponent from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) who managed to get 2466 votes, while others failed to get challenging votes.
Speaking to Journalists, Hon. Wakawa said, he will consolidate on the achievements recorded so far, and urged all and sundry to give their maximum support to the yet to be formed government of the newly elected governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum and all other candidates elected on the platform of ruling APC in the state.
His words: ” I want to extend my appreciation to the entire people of Hawul Local Government Area of Borno state irrespective of our party affiliations for their support and cooperation which led to the peaceful, free and fairly elections in all the 12 wards.
“I am specifically grateful to our leader, Governor Kashim Shettima and his Deputy, Hon. Usman Mamman Durkwa and all other APC stakeholders for giving me another mandate to serve Hawul for the better.
” I want to also said that in politics, you must have enemies or opponents, but I want to assure that we should forget the past and appealed to all our people irrespective of our party affiliations to please join hands with me so as to move Hawul forward,” he said.
