Senator Francis Fadahunsi representing Osun East Senatorial District of Osun State on the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, has assured the people of Ife/Ijesa Senatorial district of adequate security, while their welfare and infrastructural development would be prioritised when the electorates return him to the National Assembly.
Fadahunsi said this at the debate organised by Ife Youth Organisation in the ancient town today.
The debate was attended by Hon. Ajibola Famurewa of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr Ojerinde of New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, and two of the State Assembly candidates.
A statement issued by Senator Francis Fadahunsi Media and Strategic Campaign team reads in part:
“As we move into the campaign for the Presidential, National and State Assembly elections, our party and its candidates will no doubt be reminding Osun people how the State was governed in the last four years.
“We will be putting side by side the governance of Osun during the immediate past APC government with the Osun of today.
“We will also be telling our people what we have been able to deliver as our campaign promises and other expectations from our party in the next four years.”
Fadahunsi who is seeking a return to the Upper chamber of the National Assembly, noted that all the 106 wards in Ife/Ijesha Senatorial district had benefited from his campaign promises.
He reeled out his achievements in the 9th Assembly to the people of his district, saying: “This is a matter of the promise made and kept in line with his utmost desire of deepening democratic values and the great ideals of transparency, openness and accountability.
“It is also aimed at protecting the right to access information by the electorates who are the integral pillars of every democratic enterprise.
“I have kept to my campaign promises in Projects, Programs and Activities aptly showcase my solemn fidelity to the social contract we entered into.
“So far, I have been able to transform the living conditions of my constituents through the provision of sound leadership, empowerment programs, entrepreneurial training, and facilitation of modern social amenities.
“I have provided solar-powered street lights, boreholes, food pantry initiatives, provision of working tools for artisans, provision of minibuses for transportation, construction and rehabilitation of educational facilities, electrification projects, women and youth development, promotion of sporting and recreational activities as well as the creation of employment opportunities for graduates and young school leavers.
“As we go into the issue-based campaign, it is expected that the APC candidate will be bold enough to tell Osun people that he will continue with Oyetola’s legacies of banditry, kidnappings, a sack of workers, killings by government-sponsored thugs, infrastructural decay, among others, while I will also tell the people how I have continued to move the people of my constituents to a responsive stage as felt and seen by the common men.”
