MURIC Director loses 200 level engineering son, says it is a test from God

Founder and Director of Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), Prof Lakin Akintola has lost a son to the cold hands of death.

The death of the son, Mujahid Afolabi Akintola occurred on Monday, with the father describing it as a test from Allah, saying that true believers shall be tested.

In a statement on Monday, September 23, 2019, Prof Lakin explained the circumstances that led to the death of the 24 year old, who has since been buried accordance with Islamic rites.

He said, “Mujahid was a 200 level Engineering student at UNILAG. His death was due to complications which arose after a kidney operation carried out about 6 months ago. He had been in excruciating pains since the surgical operation and naturally, all members of our family shared in his trauma.”

He described him as an Hafiz – memoriser of the Qur’an, whose melodious rendition of the verses of the glorious Qur’an was like a soothing balm for his soul.

Appreciating family and friends for their support, the Director of Muslim Right Concern (MURIC) also called on all to be grateful to Allah that he died a Muslim.

According to him, “Please let us take heart. let us be grateful to Allah that this tragedy is minimal. Some families have lost all their sons and daughters in one single day. Let us also thank Allah that Mujahid died a Muslim.
