Senator Abdullahi Adamu is one of the few politicians in Nigeria who have never lost any positions they aspired for in any election. Adamu started contesting in the 70s.
A bird’s eye view:
- In 1977, he was elected to the Constituent Assembly
- In 1982, he became the first Secretary-General of the NPN in Plateau State
- In 1983, he was elected as chairman of the NPN in the Plateau
- In 1994, he was appointed to the National Constitutional Conference by General Sani Abacha’s administration
- In March 1995, he was appointed a minister of state of the Works and Housing ministry
- In 1999 he was elected as Governor of Nasarawa state for two times.
- Became Senator of the federal republic of Nigeria from 2007 to date.
