The Katsina State Government has given explanation for the delay in payment of salaries to the 300 S-power beneficiaries of the graduates category.

According to the Secretary of the S-power Committee, Ibrahim Nagari, the delay was due to the committee’s scrutinisation of the beneficiaries’ bank details.

Alhaji Ibrahim pointed out that 250 out of the 300 persons engaged in May this year are yet to provide their account numbers to even facilitate the payment of their salaries.

He, however, assured them that as soon that is concluded, they will receive their salary.

While shedding more light on the S-power program, Alhaji  Nagari said the job creation programme of Governor Aminu Bello Masari aimed at addressing the problem of massive unemployment among the teeming graduates.

He also said that so far, no fewer than 7,500 graduates are currently employed under the scheme and had since been posted to teach in both primary and secondary schools across the 34 LGAs of the state.
